Medical Cloud returned to the healthcare Point of Entry at the Italian Air Force's 3rd Wing in Villafranca di Verona, where it had attended the presentation of the new facility in November. The occasion was the 36th National Aerospace Medicine Congress, organised by AIMAS in Verona from 16 to 18 September 2026, which concluded with an exercise session at the Point of Entry.
There, we presented Argo, an AI-equipped quadruped robot supplied by IDEA srl and programmed by Medical Cloud. Argo can be the first to enter hazardous areas or places where potentially infected people may be present: it moves autonomously and transmits data to the control room designed by Medical Cloud, from which military personnel can plan interventions safely.
Alongside Argo, we brought our platform for medical monitoring of personnel in the field: a standard smartwatch connected to a chest sensor, a bodycam and an artificial intelligence system, giving rescue teams real-time information about the situation on the ground.
An exercise with the Air Force firefighting unit monitored training sessions under thermal, physical and psychological stress, collecting heart rate, skin temperature and respiration data. The chart shows one staff member's heart rate during the two tests, on the treadmill and along the course.
“For us at Medical Cloud, it is a great honour and a great challenge to design increasingly advanced medical and emergency management systems for an institution such as the Italian Air Force,” said engineer Ivano Midulla. “We know that every technological improvement and every new idea directly helps make the work of public servants safer.” Many of these solutions are also being, and will be, used in hospitals.
