Syracuse ASP has won the prestigious AISIS 2025 award, presented by the Italian Association of Information Systems in Healthcare for the best scientific contribution, thanks to PS Smart, a project dedicated to the digital transformation of emergency departments.
The award recognises an organisational and technological model that measurably improves the efficiency of emergency care, reducing waiting times and making the patient pathway smoother, more transparent and centred on real needs.
A key element of the project is digital follow-up after discharge, which maintains active contact with patients after they leave the emergency department. Medical Cloud contributed by integrating the intelligent assistant Sofia, which supports patient onboarding and preparation for video consultations, facilitating continuity of care.
Video consultations and remote monitoring have enabled a home-based care model that is particularly effective for vulnerable patients, especially those over 65, contributing to a 22% reduction in inappropriate emergency department return visits.
For Medical Cloud, the AISIS award confirms the ability of its telemedicine and artificial intelligence solutions to integrate effectively into clinical processes, supporting more sustainable, predictive and patient-centred healthcare models.
